1. Choose your Size
Only a 20% deposit is required to begin work, and the rest is due upon completion.
BACKGROUNDS - If you’d like a solid colored background, simply add 15%, except for 5x7.
MULTIPLE PETS - If you’d like additional pets in the portrait, add 20% for each additional animal.
PEOPLE PORTRAITS - People take MUCH longer to draw than furry people (so much more detail!), so human portraits are 50% more per size.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE? - A portrait takes about 15-40 hours to draw (and even more for larger sizes!), depending on the size. I’m currently booked out, but if you have a special occassion you’d like a portrait for (Christmas! Birthday Gifts!), I’d be glad to work my schedule around if possible to get you your piece in time!
If you have a unique background or portrait idea, please send a message so we can collaborate on your idea!
2. Choose your Photo(s)
Portraits are drawn on blank paper by looking at a reference photo(s) provided by you. Send a LARGE, SHARP/CLEAR photo to CarmadyStudios@gmail.com. The sharper the photo, the more detail in your portrait. If you can’t decide on a photo, send as many as you want for me to look over. If you'd like some help picking/taking a great photo, below are some good tips.
******** PHOTO TIPS ********
The artist uses the photo you provide to draw a detailed portrait. If you don’t have a photo of the pose you want, several photos can be used to create the right one. Separate images can be used to place a number of pets or people together in one portrait. A lovely detailed portrait can be drawn with CLEAR, QUALITY digital photos. Photos can be sent through e-mail to carmadystudios@gmail.com.
The best photos are those taken outside on a CLOUDY day, in the SHADE, or by a WINDOW. Natural sunlight shows more vibrant colors, but putting your subject in direct sunlight can create harsh shadows that make it difficult to see the eyes, which is the most important part of the portrait. Please provide CLEAR, QUALITY digital photos. Larger photos help to provide the artist with the detail needed to create a realistic portrait!
Sometimes it’s impossible to find a quality photo, such as if you’re planning a surprise. In this case the artist can creatively fill in the missing detail.
